Therapy Modalities
-
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy aims to teach people that it is possible to have control over your thoughts, feelings and behaviors. CBT helps you to challenge and overcome automatic beliefs and use practical strategies to change or modify your behavior.
-
Solution-focused therapy is a collaborative, goal-oriented approach to therapy that focuses on building solutions rather than identifying the causes of problems. SFT is based on the idea that effective change can be achieved by focusing on the present and what's working in a client's life.
-
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing aims to decrease negative emotions and behaviors by using bilateral stimulation of the brain often used through eye movements. While focusing on stuck or unprocessed memories of trauma, the use of bilateral stimulation helps the brain reorganize and store the newly processed memories in a healthy way.
-
The Gottman Method is a couple’s therapy approach that aims to improve communication, increase intimacy, and build a shared meaning in a relationship.
-
Somatic Therapy is based on the idea that the mind and body are closely connected and that the body can be a valuable resource for psychotherapy. It aims to help people release tension, stress, and trauma from the body, become more aware of bodily sensations, feel safe in their bodies, and regulate their nervous system.
